5 Wrap Around Porches That Scream Summer

There’s something magical about a wrap around porch. In the United States, they originally gained popularity in the South, where they offered a respite from the intense heat. Having a covered area near the house allowed folks to enjoy the outdoors from multiple sides of the house. And particularly for homes in the country, a wrap around porch offered a wide range of views. The covered porch also shaded the ground floor windows from the intense sun coming in.

This one maintains a ton of privacy, with greenery surrounding the porch and giving it the feel of a raised terrace looking down on a canopy of trees. It also wraps around into an enclosed sun room, a light and bright bonus space.

The interior of the home retains a ton of period charm, especially in the living and dining areas. Large bay windows look out onto the front porch. A cozy fireplace makes itself the centerpiece of the living room. And the original fir hardwood floors really take the cake for giving you that old world feel.
